Athol Williams: A Leader Who Builds Bridges

Athol Williams isn’t just a community leader—he’s a catalyst for unity, dialogue, and real change. For decades, Athol has stood at the crossroads of faith, culture, and community, proving that leadership is measured not in titles, but in impact.

In 2006, he lit the spark of interfaith dialogue through the Horizon Interfaith Communication Media Council, breaking barriers and building trust among diverse religious groups. His gift for bringing people together earned him the Council’s prestigious award—a clear sign of his power to inspire respect across divides.

Athol’s influence only grew. By 2013, the Government of Canada Community Award recognized his relentless dedication to service. A year later, he earned the Community Leader Award, proof that his vision and innovative action weren’t just making waves—they were making history.

As the Founder of Afro Mosaic Health Guide (AMHG) Magazine, Athol extended his leadership into health education, creating a trusted platform that empowers Black communities with knowledge, resources, and inspiration to live healthier lives. Through AMHG, he champions awareness, prevention, and wellness—ensuring families, seniors, and children have access to life-changing information.

His philosophy is simple yet profound: every voice matters, every person counts. Whether guiding seniors, inspiring youth, or empowering families, Athol leads with compassion, inclusion, and the courage to listen.

Today, he remains a beacon of hope—a man who reminds us that true leadership doesn’t just change communities; it strengthens the very fabric of a nation.

Most people think vision loss arrives suddenly. It doesn’t. It whispers first—through subtle changes, quiet warning signs, and missed appointments. Eye care isn’t just about seeing clearly; it’s about seeing early. As Dr. Anel Johnson reminds us, “The eyes often reveal what the body is str...

    About

Afro Mosaic Health Guide (AMHG)Afro Mosaic Health Guide (AMHG)

Afro Mosaic Health Guide (AMHG) isn’t your average wellness magazine—it’s a vibrant, unapologetically Black space where health, heritage, and community collide. Think of it as a digital mosaic: pieces of ancestral knowledge, modern science, mental health truths, and plant-based soul food layered into one bold narrative. In true Ann Friedman fashion, AMHG doesn’t preach—it listens, reflects, and reframes what wellness looks like for Black bodies. It’s not about perfection; it’s about power. Whether unpacking medical bias or celebrating self-care as resistance, AMHG reminds us that healing isn’t linear—it’s cultural, emotional, and deeply personal. This is health with roots.
