Turning Trusted Chairs into Lifesaving Conversations CUTS FOR LIFE™ is a community-based health initiative by Afro Mosaic Health Guide (AMHG) designed to transform barbershops and hair salons into trusted centers of prevention, awareness, and protection. Rooted in the understanding that barbershops and salons are more than businesses—they are cultural anchors—this program equips barbers and stylists with culturally grounded health education tools that spark meaningful, lifesaving conversations. The initiative focuses on preventing and detecting conditions that disproportionately impact Black communities, including hypertension, stroke, prostate cancer, and stress-related illness. Through printed health blueprints, referral pathways to trusted clinics, and Community Health Ambassador certification, CUTS FOR LIFE™ strengthens the bridge between healthcare systems and the community. This is not about turning shops into clinics. It is about elevating trusted spaces into protection hubs. By meeting people where trust already exists, CUTS FOR LIFE™ builds sustainable community health infrastructure—one chair, one conversation, one life at a time.
