 What It’s All About

  • Why it matters: First recognized by Mayor Kevin Ashe and Pickering Council in 2025, this is a day to bring attention to how anti-Black racism damages health—mental, physical, and beyond. Systems in healthcare, education, policing, and child welfare have been failing many in the community, and this event asks: How can we change that? • Who’s coming: Researchers, policy makers, community leaders, nurses, doctors, activists. And most importantly: members of the Black community—your stories, experiences, and voices. Carion Fenn Foundation+1 https://carionfenn.org/seniors-program

  • Empowerment Through Truth: Never again sit in silence. This is your voice, your questions, your lived reality at the table.
  • Community & Allyship in Action: This event isn’t just for the Black community—it’s for those ready to show up, listen, and fight for justice. Because change takes all of us.
